Kingston 2009 National BMX Championships

After a brief initial study of the results from Kingston here are some interesting statistics from data regarding the 20" challenge classes (non Jr. Elite or Elite riders).

For Challenge class riders in Kingston, Alberta had 37 in attendance. Of those 37 Alberta brought back 31 ‘N’ plates. Or 84% of the attending riders made their mains.

13 of the AB Team riders brought back 9 ‘N’ plates, 2 Gold Medals, 4 Silver Medals, and 0 Bronze medals meaning that of a possible 15 medals they brought back 6 (or 40%) of them.

Medals:

All Alberta riders:

Gold: 3

Silver 6

Bronze: 2

Total: 11

Of a possible: 48 (16classes @ 3 medals each) or 23% of the total possible.

Of the 37 Alberta riders in attendance, Airdrie sent 17. Of those 17, 16 of them (94%) brought back N plates thus proving who has the best coaching in the country. :)

Airdrie Medals:

Gold: 2

Silver: 5

Bronze: 1

Airdrie obtained 73% of Alberta’s medals and 17% of total possible)

Coaching

On Thursday June 18th there will be a single coaching session to be held at 7:30pm. This is due to the reduced number of riders we have in Airdrie with many members heading to Kingston for the 2009 National BMX Championships.

Today's Work Party

Thank you to all members that came out to the work party today. You all did a fantastic job and it is greatly appreciated. On behalf of the Board of Directors, thank you.

Lost Dog

After the sudden forced cancellation of Camp Cools on the weekend there were a number of items that have been found either at the Church or at Airdrie BMX. We will be cataloging and posting them on the site here. For now we have this little guy looking for his home. The owners can contact the Croft Residence (Tim and Carolyn) at 403-948-1839 to arrange his safe return. We figure he must be pretty important to some little BMX'er out there.

Camp Cools Update

After much discussion - due to the snow and rain - we've been forced to cancel Camp Cools. The track un-rideable. A policy going forward will be issued very shortly.
